Thanks to our many amazing fellow activists and allies for their gracious hospitality and excellent suggestions during a seven-week transition, Wild Idaho Rising Tide established the WIRT Activist House on Friday, July 13! Open daily between noon and 8 pm, this hundred-year-old, two-bedroom house beneath a huge cottonwood tree near downtown Moscow provides our group a combined working space, weekly meeting place, information resource center, and visiting/resident climate activist home.
To welcome and recognize our community and celebrate our successful, intensive search and the emergence of our collective base of operations, we are hosting a house-warming party on Saturday, July 21, at 8 pm until the wee hours. Come to our small, humble house and bring your friends, family (including children), beverages, snacks, and/or hearty dishes to share with your comrades for a lively evening of radical elbow-rubbing, merry-making, and music-playing. Fiddlin’ Big Al and friends will be stirring up eclectic, liberal, folk tunes, musicians inclined to jam can join the acoustic fray, and the kitchen can fit a handful of dancers. We would be delighted and infinitely grateful for the honor of your revolutionary presence amongst this revelry!
If you would like to contribute on this occasion or afterwards, frugal lead WIRT organizers own few possessions, so we are requesting donations to the group of essential furniture and accoutrements, such as a hide-a-bed or futon couch and chair(s), book shelves, side tables, and lamps (to accommodate our presenter and activist guests), a kitchen table and chairs, pots/pans, dishes, glasses/cups, and utensils (for potlucks and other convergences), drapes/curtains, posters/artwork, and picture frames for our action photos. Most significantly, we are seeking one or two WIRT house mates, preferably from among our wonderful ranks, to support some of the monthly facility and utility costs. Please contact us with your ideas, materials, or for location information.
